About

I connect technical depth with practical outcomes.

Data & AI Engineer · Leeds, UK

The short version

I help turn complex data into dependable pipelines, well-evaluated models and clearer decisions.

My experience spans corporate banking at BBVA, analytics consulting at INDRA, software entrepreneurship at PlayTec and applied NLP at the University of Leeds. Across those environments, the work has been consistent: clarify the problem, build the data foundation, test assumptions and make the result usable.

My engineering foundation began in mechatronics in Peru and expanded through an internship at UNICAMP, product delivery, distributed data systems and an MSc with Distinction. That breadth lets me move comfortably between code, modelling, infrastructure and stakeholder context.

Journey

A progression, not a collection of unrelated chapters.

Engineering

Foundations and entrepreneurship

Mechatronics at UNI, an engineering internship at UNICAMP and co-founding PlayTec to deliver software and technology education.

Consulting

Data for operational decisions

Python and SQL pipelines at INDRA, connecting model outputs with finance and operations decisions.

Banking

Distributed systems at scale

PySpark, Hadoop, AWS and APIs at BBVA, improving the speed and reliability of corporate-banking workflows.

Leeds

Applied AI at scale

An MSc with Distinction followed by GPU-backed multilingual data pipelines at the University of Leeds.

Recognition · 2016

First place, Mining & Energy Hackathon

Part of the winning team in a technology-for-social-responsibility challenge organised by Peru’s National Society of Mining, Oil and Energy and ESAN University.

Beyond engineering

Technology is always about people.

Peruvian student engineering team at the ARLISS satellite competition

Long before working in AI, I learnt to communicate through folk music, film and teaching.

I grew up in Juliaca and took part in a regional film as a child, played traditional music at school and later helped bring practical technology education to students across Peru. I also joined the ARLISS student satellite challenge in the United States.

Those experiences still shape how I work: stay curious, explain clearly and build with the people affected by the system in mind.
